Help me give my students these colored pencils, watercolor paper, paintbrushes, watercolor paints, and laminating film so that my students can illustrate and publish their work.
Our students are academically, economically, and culturally diverse. They have a variety of different experiences that add to the diversity in our classroom. Over fifty percent of our students receive free lunch, which is greater than the state average. We were awarded STEM certification in November of 2018. This is a great honor since we are the first public, Title I elementary school awarded in Idaho. The ongoing training helps us to design and differentiate rigorous lessons and learning sequences that are intended to meet the needs of all learners.
My Project
These art materials will help my students to design, illustrate, and publish their own work. Throughout the year we complete several projects which allow students to publish books, works of art or writing pieces that allow student a creative way to demonstrate what they have learned over their course of study. The units coming up focus on fossils and what we can learn from the past and pollination and how it helps the world. These colored pencils, watercolor paper, paintbrushes, watercolor paints, and laminating film materials would be helpful for students to be able to have choice of how and what they would like to use for their projects.
