My Students
Words cannot describe how excited I am to have my first classroom! Due to the fact this is my first year teaching, I am trying to grow and expand my resources! In addition, our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with 100% of students receiving free breakfast and lunch.
My school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in the city, where students speak a multitude of languages.
As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics. Every day, I make sure to welcome my students with a smile on my face and, in return, they exchange a smile back, ready to learn and succeed. Despite many hardships my students may face, they are eager and put in their best effort. They know that our classroom is never about a perfect outcome; it is instead about the risks and effort put forth. My students certainly deserve a successful and engaging classroom, where they can become life long learners.
My Project
Dear donors,
My fourth graders and myself are hoping to receive books and novels, as well as, poems to complete author studies.
It is important for students to realize and analyze the authors who create and write such magnificent stories, non fiction, and poetry. Through author studies we can compare the similarities and differences between texts authors wrote. I will also be able to teach students how the authors message in the books may connect or perhaps are diverse. Students will also be able to make connections with some authors and see themselves in there path, perhaps sparking interest for my students to become an author them self. Please help us acquire these books.
