My Students
I'm a third grade teacher . My school is very diverse and the majority of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. My student population is low income, latch key students and very culturally diverse.
My goal is to to help elementary 3rd grade students learn effective ways to communicate with their peers and teachers, improve their writing skills before 4th grade, and fill in the gaps between 2nd and 3rd.
Many of my students struggle with writing complete sentences, using proper grammar and reading comprehension. This causes behavior issues in the classroom which impedes learning. Many are struggling readers as well which makes the frustration greater.
My focus is to empower these young students and help them communicate more effectively for success in life.
My Project
I have two class rotations and I value every moment of my teaching time. These heavy-duty paper trays with lids will remain on the table and they will store writing journals, paper and writing materials that my students use daily. The Echo microphone will also help with the listening, speaking and writing. The microphone is perfect for oral language exercises, sound manipulation, encouraging correct pronunciation and more, this lightweight microphone makes it a cinch for my students to amplify their voices and gain the confidence they need to become effective speakers. This will help with their writing. Once they hear it spoken properly, they can write it properly. It creates a fun writing environment using research-based materials!
