Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a bilingual dual 2way program. This is a very exiting program because all my students are in the process of learning a new language. My students are a mixture of children who can speak English and ones who can speak Spanish, and they are all learning each other’s language. This combination provides them with a great opportunity to get to know, not only each others language, but also their culture.
My student love earning, hands-on-activities, being active, engaging projects and music.
They are always very curios and exited to learn new thing.
My Project
Giving the opportunity to children to experience books in their authentic language is a great way for them explore new cultures, enrich their vocabulary and understand the amazing diversity of Latin America. This will be an fantastic experience for my students who are only starting to learn Spanish, as well as for all my students whose first language is Spanish and will get to experience authentic literature. I know they will all have a lot of fun sharing about this books with each other.
Unfortunately, when a book has been translated it looses some of its essence.
Getting this books is never an easy task. Books in Spanish are very hard to find.
