Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We're a new school! My students will be starting their very first year of 5th grade at our school. They are very unique in that they will be learning in both English and Spanish. Since we are new in the district, we need lots of materials to get our program going. Kindergartners need lots of opportunities to learn and explore their classrooms. They will be able to play, sing, and learn together in two languages. I know they will be eager to learn and show everyone around them how bilingualism is a life skill that will help them throughout their lives. Our students come from mostly low income households that get free or reduced lunches. Some are able to bring their own resources while many cannot therefore we try our best to get resources they can use all year long.
My Project
I am moving to 5th grade next year and love using organizational pouches to allow my students to keep all their materials organized and in one place. These pouches are amazing and I would like to get a set for my incoming 5th graders. The pouches are sturdy, easy to use and are incredible for all students.
Organization is a skill they will need to use for the rest of their lives and teaching them how to use various materials in the classrooms and allowing them their own pouches to help them organize their things is a great way to encourage them to practice this skill.
