Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A typical day at school begins with greeting my students, collecting homework, and honoring points reflecting their attendance, water bottles, and eyeglasses on each table.
My students are thirty-one children who will be always smiling, talking, and asking questions from the first ringing of the bell each day.
They belong to different ethnic backgrounds, and I learn from each of them every single day at school. They attend an urban school where families qualify for Title I to receive free lunch at the cafeteria. We will work diligently to close learning gaps, but we need to practice even more to achieve this goal. I am asking for your help to make this dream become true.
My Project
I usually prepare a pencil box with all the school supplies I can buy based on my budget until these last years. Unfortunately, stores have changed rules for teachers when buying supplies. They only let me buy three items per household at a great price. These items are not enough. I have thirty-one students who are willing to see their new Fifth Grade class, knowing in advance that everything will be set up for them. I have some supplies, but I do need your help to complete all the supplies I would like my students to own during the whole year.
I am asking for sharpeners, different types of markers, and pencil erasers.
Fifth Grade curriculum requires a lot of interaction with writing
purposes. Notebooks are ready on the desk, but sharpeners, different choices of markers, and pink erasers will be indispensable to create a perfect learning environment. Writing needs different components but the essentials are included in my project.I would like to offer my new students a sense of readiness for another great school year.
