Help me give my students three iPads in order to increase their opportunities to improve analytical, literacy, and 21st-century research skills through a series of Interactive Augmented/Virtual Reality Apps and Osmo games.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students reflect the reason I became a teacher: Love. They love discovering the world around them, from the books and artifacts placed in every corner of the classroom to the immensity of the countless places and cultures on our planet.
My Third graders are a creative, joyful and unstoppable force empowered by a growing global awareness and a profound commitment to building a better a world.
They are profoundly interested in traveling through land, water, air, and time in order to discover, understand, and re-create the beauty of this life. Technology has been a great aid, particularly Augmented Reality and VR Apps at the moment of visiting landmarks, meeting famous characters or even going to the moon! Lesson plans, class dynamics, and instruction are meant to enhance critical thinking processes, inter/multicultural awareness, and global connections.
My Project
My classroom is a place where authentic narratives emerge and interact in a pedagogical/meaningful manner. My students have found that technology is a great aid at the moment of enhancing the way they experience their learning process by becoming authors, creators, and owners of the most fascinating projects.
Our class needs three iPads in order to continue exploring Augmented and Virtual Reality as a meaningful, fun, and interactive way to research and carry out original projects.
By using technology, we have explored several breath-taking places around the globe, visited extraordinary and mysterious venues, and admired hidden cultures. This grant could help us continue living adventures beyond our imagination!
