This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every day is a challenge, but we keep on fighting!

My classroom has 10 students.

They are all moderately or severely handicapped. They are amazing kids and they surprise me every day. These kids have a tough road ahead but they never give up. Their determination is an inspiration to the entire school.

My Project

We make communication books for student who can not speak or have very little language. There is nothing more essential then helping kids communicate. We use a program called "board-maker" and it is fantastic. Having a quality printer will positively impact our ability to make communication materials for the kids and their families. The cost and frequency of changing ink cartridges inhibits our ability to make meaningful materials.

This project will make a huge difference to my students.

With an economical printer, I will be able to make 2 copies of the communication materials. I will keep one and school and send the other home for the students to practice communication skills with their families.
