Help me give my students a chance to hear and experience learning using the new Chromebooks that our district purchased recently! If these kids can hear and see instructional presentations, they can experience learning and grow academically.

My Students

I teach in a low-income, rural community. My students are culturally diverse, with some students speaking English, Spanish, and Russian. My students are amazing, and they need technology tools for the 21st century to push them to their next level of achievement.

With headphones purchased through DonorsChoose, our amazing students could take full advantage of the new Chromebooks that our district recently purchased.

If they had headphones, they could take advantage of online tutorials as well as literature with audio. Vocabulary and interest would soar if these amazing students had headphones.

My Project

My students will use the headphones purchased with this project every day of this school year to build vocabulary and comprehension for reading on grade level or above grade level. Each student will use a set of headphones to stay focused while learning new strategies for inferring and building background knowledge. They will watch and listen to instructional videos and tutorials to grow academically as they take full advantage of our new Chromebooks.

They will focus because the headphones will block out distractions.

These students will grow at least one grade level in reading this year as they listen and learn through visual and auditory modalities. My kids need these headphones to stay engaged.
