Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

This is my fourth year teaching at P.S. 173. This year, 15 of my 32 students receive (or should be receiving) English as a Second Language (ESL) assistance. Unfortunately, due to the ESL teacher shortage, most of my students are not receiving the extra attention that they deserve. I try to provide them the extra guidance through extra read-alouds, longer word work, etc. However, there are times when I'm overwhelmed with my other responsibilities. I am asking for several different audio books for my students. Not only can they use them during lunch periods and center time, but also I can lend them to student to take home. Since the majority of my students do not come from English-speaking homes, the audio books can act as an adult reading to them.
