This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school has one of the highest English Language Learner populations in the area and we have very limited resources with which to purchase classrooms books and materials.

In my classroom, I have students who speak very limited English and I have a high population of Special Education students.

I would like to build a listening center so that my students can listen to books that are related to the topics we are covering in our curriculum.

My Project

I have an upcoming unit in English Language Arts on biographies. Most of my students have very limited exposure to American historical figures and it will be great to have a listening center so that my students can access our curriculum at their reading level.

Without donations, we will not be able to create a listening center because our funds are very limited.

Please help our students gain a greater knowledge of historical figures and a greater love of reading!
