My students attend a public school in California.

The students I work with all have special needs and many of them cannot read. They are in a special day class on a general education campus. Since I teach three grades levels in one class, I am not always able to read to my non-readers. A fully functional audio center would do wonders for these students.

My Project

I have chosen many books about animals, people, and fantasy characters to keep my students interested in listening to the audio books. Most of the stories have a moral or lesson to be learned. A listening center full of audiobooks will also help my struggling readers with fluency and intonation.

If I can get my audio library donated, it will positively impact all my students.

My students love looking at books, but since many of them can't read, they aren't able to understand the stories. Even my readers would benefit from an audio library for more exposure to reading and listening to natural speech and intonation.
