My Students

My students are full of life and each have a unique personality. I love that they are unafraid to be who they are and to tell it like they see it. They are intelligent and brave against a world that quite often misunderstands them due to their disabilities and their circumstances. I go in everyday and learn just as much from them as they do from me!

My students are majority boys and are all emotionally impaired.

My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Your generous support will help them in achieving not only behavioral but academic goals as well!

My Project

My students will benefit from headphones with microphones and beanbag chairs. Having headphones with a microphone means they can participate in differentiated activities on the computer. Often times, my students have deficits in reading and writing and can use tools to help bridge the gaps such as speaking what they want to type into Voice Command and recording themselves reading to see where they make errors.

Additionally, my students are emotionally impaired and often times need some flexible options to help redirect behavior.

Having beanbag chairs for our sensory area will provide a comfortable space to calm down and be ready to learn again. Being able to take a break and come back to the lesson is vital in my program.
