My students are sixth, seventh, and eighth graders in a small, rural middle school.
Our three hundred and twenty-five students range from the mentally impaired and learning disabled to gifted, with every ability level in between.
They all are excited about learning; however, and want to be able to do everything larger schools do.
We get no money for supplies, consumables, or new equipment. Everything we get has to come from grants or fundraisers. With every department, music group, and athletic team raising funds, it becomes very difficult for the community to support all of our needs.
My Project
My students would love to be able to play games where they compete against other tables. They are grouped in threes or fours at tables and sometimes it’s hard for me to figure out who raises a hand first; especially in my large classes. We would love to get the buzzers and wireless door bells to help us “ring in” when we have the correct answer. We could also use the door bells when we are switching from station to station, changing activities, or getting new direction. The batteries, of course, are so that everything comes ready to go because as soon as my students see the packages they are ready to go!
