Attention-Grabbing Dystopian Novels Help 9th Graders Love Reading
Help me give my students a classroom set of the book The Marrow Thieves. This book helps students to read an engaging dystopian novel that also allows them to consider the historical experiences of Native American people.
I am teaching English 1 courses to 9th grade students this semester. Our school serves a diverse population in an area that is rapidly growing. Our community is home to multi-suburban and small town, rural families.
I am a first-year teacher excited to get to know her students and to provide interesting literature that will help them to engage with books and to become lifelong readers!
My students are creative and thoughtful, and with these books, we will be able to respond to the literature through a variety of projects and class discussions to improve literacy and writing skills. During student teaching, a number of students responded well to new texts that ask challenging questions. This is a fast-paced text that will allow students to draw connections from many of the books and movies they have seen while still allowing them to study the context and historical events discussed in the text.

I am passionate about helping students to find the right book that will foster a love for literature.
This set of books, which I desire to teach to my 9th grade classes, will interest students and help them to engage with the story line and the historical elements represented in the book.

In this course, we will cover both classical literature and Young Adult literature, as well as literature from different perspectives and regions. I believe that this set of classroom books could increase student engagement with the course material and create a better classroom experience for students!
