We are a third grade, Title I, elementary school in the less desirable part of the neighborhood. What these students are lacking in the pleasurable things of life, they make up for with desire and the will to improve.
Although these students do not experience much of the finer things of life, they want to learn.
With that said, the majority of these students work hard to be a better part of the community. They want to improve their lives and know knowledge is the way.
My Project
Some of our little learners with ADHD and other learning disabilities have a difficult time sitting and need some assistance with being able to focus on learning for very long. These flexible balls will be used as chair to allow these learners to work and have a way to wiggle while still focusing on math, science and language arts. They will be able to move as needed and not disturb their peers. We can also use them during indoor recess as a way for these students to release extra energy and other students with special needs to be able to use them as needed.
