My Students

My students are truly amazing! I am blessed to be a severe special education teacher to a classroom of inspiring kiddos. My students absolutely love to learn and find joy in the most simple of discoveries. They come to school each day ready to try new things and make brave choices to grow personally and academically. My classroom has a variety of disabilities ranging from cerebral palsy, autism, spina bifida and other health impairments.

They love hands on, active, engaging activities that challenge them on their own unique learning level!

It is important to provide a learning environment that incorporates a variety of learning strategies, group work, alternatives seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met! They are the very best humans!

My Project

Adding two new iPads to our classroom will allow my students to use them independently during station rotations in math, reading and social/ emotional activities. They will be able to utilize several learning platforms needed for success in their individualized learning programs.

I have several kiddos that are non verbal and in need of a device to use for functional communication!

I can take our two older iPads and use them exclusively for this purpose. I can't tell you what a difference that would make with these special students!

Truly, these iPads will make our classroom an active learning space where students are able to learn at their own pace and learning level!
