Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school serves students in grades Pre-K3-5 and 8th. About 70% of our students come from bilingual/Spanish speaking only households. 100% of our students receive free breakfast, lunch and snack. Many of our students face homelessness and find attending school consistently to be one of the many challenges.

My Project
New school uniform shirts highlighting school attendance will help meet many of our students' basic school needs and boost their daily attendance rates. Uniforms are required as part of our academic program and are designed to help improve student achievement. Many of our families are unable to purchase several sets of school uniforms and struggle to get their students to school everyday. The students who need uniforms often feel isolated as they are unable to attend school in school attire that is similar to their peers. This sense of isolation can have an adverse effect on an already vulnerable student population. With your help we can provide 1 attendance motivating school uniform shirt to 65 of our Pre-kindergarten 3 students.
