Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

During the pandemic, many of our students experienced extreme hardships at home. When the school reopened, the number of overall absences skyrocketed. More specifically, chronic absences rose to nearly 20%. This is a major concern because attendance is one of the strongest predictors of student achievement. Since we have a high number of first generation students, we are focused on reducing the number of chronic absences to ensure that no child falls behind.

To incentivize good attendance, we would like to host a raffle for those with perfect attendance.

Tablets are powerful tools which provide students with endless hours of learning. It is our hope that chronic absences will reduce by, at least, 10% within the next few months. Thank you so much for your support!
