My students need to be recognized for perfect attendance. They will be entered in a drawing for Blue Ray Discs, books, a snorkel set and other fun items.
Students need to have good attendance to learn. Making the commitment to be at school every day and on time is quite an accomplishment for anyone, especially a child. Praising children for their dedication to learning will reinforce the life-long habits of commitment and punctuality.
Our students come from a variety of backgrounds.
They attend a kindergarten through fifth grade elementary school in a small Ohio town. We have about 400 students. Many students receive free or reduced priced lunch because of financial needs. Several students are responsible for getting themselves up and ready for school because of parent work schedules or other circumstances. Older students may help younger siblings get ready for school.
My Project
Imagine the joy of being handed a ticket from your favorite principal and being told you had $50 to spend on anything you wanted! For our students, most of whom experience high levels of poverty, they would feel like they just won the lottery. The best part is that they EARNED this prize by simply committing to their own education. We plan to have a drawing for our students that have had perfect attendance for the whole school year. One boy and one girl will win a grand prize! They will get to choose to shop for prizes totaling $50 from the Donors Choose catalogs like Blue Ray Discs, a snorkel set, and other fun items. We look forward to rewarding our deserving students!
We have a large segment of our population who get themselves up everyone morning by themselves.
They do not have an adult to fix them a breakfast and kiss them goodbye. Please help us encourage all of our students to have perfect attendance.
