Help me give my students a selection of computer adapters so they can work efficiently. Sometimes, we don't have the correct adapters to attach monitors, projector, cameras, pointing devices, etc.
My students are from a Title I school in rural Oklahoma where I also grew up. A large percentage of our students live below the poverty level and have rarely experienced the world outside of our local area. They need opportunities to gain new experiences with hands-on learning about the world outside our rural area.
I know they have the desire and ability to learn and grow; they just need the opportunity and the tools.
Exploring ideas in tangible ways is something my students enjoy and have a definite interest in doing. They understand what they need to succeed; they just lack the experience and the tools.
My Project
Our school, like everyone else, has gone totally digital. The digital experience makes many things easier: writing, presentations, research. But when we do not have the adapters to hook up to the drawing pens or the projectors - it becomes frustration.
Having the adapters we need will make our projects and presentations easier to complete and show off, giving my students the ability to spend more time actually working, and less time gathering the supplies they need to present.
We live in an area where we cannot just run to the store to get the adapter we need. Having a wide selection on-hand will make our lives much easier.
