My students need some flexible and comfortable seating options they can use during class and replacement recess balls to burn off that extra energy & build their social skills!
I have a great group of small town kids. Many have not traveled out of the community and have not experienced a lot. We have single and dual parent families and grandparents raising kids.
You can definitely see the potential in these kiddos.
We are just trying to bring it out and let them see it in themselves as well! I have a busy group of kiddos and while it's hard to keep them focused at times because they have so much energy, I try to utilize that energy in the classroom for learning.
My Project
Sitting in hard plastic chairs all day is no fun on your bottom and makes it hard to concentrate. We've all been there! And then when it's time to play outside, what do you do with your classmates when you don't have any equipment to play with?
These kids need a comfy environment to learn in and equipment to play with at recess so they can come back in and learn without being antsy!
Recess is overlooked many times but kids need it to build social skills in team building and communicating with one another - this is done at recess with team sports that we need balls for.
Math can be tedious at times with numbers everywhere. These chairs and beanbags (with lap desks to use) will help promote a more stimulating and welcoming environment they are more apt to want to learn in. It will allow them the opportunity to twist, turn, wiggle, or bounce if they have some extra energy, and it'll allow them to work with partners in a comfortable setting.
