I co-teach in a preschool classroom of fifteen curious, creative, and capable 3 and 4 year old children. We are in an urban setting geared towards low-income families. This year our school made huge strides towards becoming a Reggio Emilia inspired school. We have even created an Atelier within our school that is shared between 14 classrooms. With the shared space and schedule, our children only get about 2 hours a month in this space.
The children LOVE music and art!
The Atelier is their favorite "Special" They would love to make their classroom a little bit more like the Atelier.
My Project
My Preschoolers love to learn through music and movement! Not only do we need a good functional radio/cd/cassette player for fun and dance, which we do a lot of, but also for our more academic songs, poems, stories, and quiet time resting music.
My Preschool classroom is full of Creative Artists!
The paper organizers will make it much easier for them to select the color of paper that they want. The current situation is that all of the paper is piled together and it is very difficult for them to select middle and bottom colors without most of it ending up on the floor. With the paper organizers, they will still be able to exercise their pincer grasp by picking the paper but it will be much less frustrating.
TAPE, TAPE, TAPE! We go through a lot of tape. Not only are they creative artists but they are little researchers and engineers. They will use this tape in their art projects, science experiments, and engineering feats.
