My Students

In the story Goldilocks and The Three Bears, Goldilocks was on a mission to find items that were "just right". My second graders are on a mission every time they choose books. They need nonfiction leveled books to help complete their mission. They also need chair pockets to help store their books.

The school district that my students attend prides itself on academic excellence.

This excellence is seen in our school. Student achievement is the focus of all activities. The students and staff are very fortunate to have such great family and community involvement. Families value education and want their child(ren) to succeed.

My Project

Students LOVE Reader's Workshop! During Reader's Workshop my students have the opportunity to pick out books that interest them. I have several emergent books, but I would like more leveled books that are nonfiction. They also need a special place to store their books. That is why I am requesting chair pockets for my students to use. The bright blue pockets will help keep the books protected and the students organized.

My students need nonfiction books that are "just right" for their different reading levels.

By encouraging reading every day and providing my students with exciting resources, each student in my class will have the opportunity to grow as a reader.
