Mr. Becker from Saint Louis MO is requesting musical instruments through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need guitars to help build a guitar program.

My students attend a neighborhood school on the north side of St. Louis. Everyday I come to school I am always impressed with the resiliency of these children. They are survivors. At the same time, they are still children. They love to play singing and clapping games, use puppets, scarves, play instruments and creating choreographed dances.
It's wonderful to see their faces light up with joy when they are having fun in music.
The students are also passionate (and nervous) about performing in front of an audience. A few times they would spontaneously start singing songs for our spring concert in the cafeteria. A table of girls were excited to sing the solo and a healthy competition ensued.
When I came into the music room, there were no instruments except for some broken tambourines and a box of triangles. Luckily, I was able to borrow various instruments from another school in the district. I am hoping to get sponsored to purchase more instruments for my students.
These guitars will go right in the hands of my older students. My school is building a guitar program from the ground up. We were able to get few guitars on loan from another school, but need more so that everyone can play together. Help our students have a truly "hands-on learning experience" by putting theses guitars in the hands of some truly deserving children.
My students get excited just holding the guitar but once they start playing different parts together as a group, the feeling is truly empowering for these young people.
It is truly a magical instrument and children are naturally drawn to it. Please help bring more magic to my classroom for years to come by supporting this project.
