I currently teach in a 50/50 Dual Immersion English/Spanish program at a Title 1 school. Our school was closed because of state and local health orders. Those orders do not have expiration dates, which means we do not know if health restrictions will be lifted before the end of the school year. Most of my students are from low-income families. Many of their parents are essential workers and are facing additional challenges in supporting their student's learning.
Until we can be together again, I will be teaching remotely from my home.
I am recording lessons to share with my students so they can continue learning at home. I am hosting a weekly Zoom meeting to help my students stay connected as a classroom family.
Since our school has been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented distance learning. Many of my students come from low-income families that have limited resources for distance learning. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to access additional instructional resources to support my students' at-home learning. The printer ink will allow me to be to print additional resources for students who are not able to print their own at home.
The books I selected cover social-emotional topics that will help start conversations about how they are feeling during this challenging time.
The ring light will help light my little at-home classroom. This will help enhance the quality of my recordings by making them clear and bright.
