An "Elmo" allows students to write on their papers and have it projected onto the overhead screen. This allows us to write, edit and revise our writing for publication.
Students in Joplin have been through an ordeal with last years' F5 tornado.
Bringing our technology into the 21st century is essential for these students to keep them on the right path. Keeping their minds toward the future is a necessity. Writing is extremely important for students so we need tools to enhance the writing process. A document camera allows us to work together when writing.
In the writing process, we begin with a rough draft, proceed to editing and revising, then to publication. We will be able to focus on each aspect with great detail and help each other create exciting writing pieces and even focus on the artistic portion of our writing projects.
Students use writing as a way to bring out the inward feelings.
After the tornado of 2011, students aren't sure how to discuss their feelings. As they create a writing piece, we can edit and revise our work together with a document camera as a whole class. This will bring the students feelings to the front, ready for discussion and create an environment that is conducive for the healing process.
