My students need an assistive technology device, the activ slate, to enhance communication in the classroom.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
Assistive technology devices can often be the deciding factor in whether a student with disabilities succeeds or fails in our educational programs.
Our classroom is made up of 19 students, with diverse learning exceptionalities.
We are a non title I school. Being a low to moderate poverty school, we do not receive many funds as the other school do. Even though school districts provide assistive technology to students who need them, the school district does not have the funds available to purchase appropriate devices for all students who need them.
With an active slate in the classroom, students with learning disabilities will be able to use a more tactile and handheld device to enhance their learning through the use of technology. The world is changing and everyone must be ready at every age to keep up. Students learn through many methods and this is one way to reach those who truly need it.
All students should have the chance to succeed even if it be with an assistive technology device.
No child left behind! Let's give every child a fighting chance to make it is this technology driven world.
