My Students

Our school is comprised of students with ADHD, Autism, Learning disabilities, and other social and behavioral deficits.

We have students ranging from K-12 with over 75% of them being low-income. Our students face everyday struggles that the average human could not understand. We have a very hardworking and dedicated staff who put an immense amount of time and energy into helping our students succeed and give them the encouragement they need.

My Project

Our classroom needs heavy duty electric pencil sharpeners to keep up with the hard work they continue to portray day after day. Whether it is during Math, Reading, Social Studies, Art, Science, or any other time throughout the school day, our students are flying through pencils! As small of of a job as it may seem, pencil sharpening is a duty taken on by many of the students and we need to have sharpened pencils ready to go at all times so as not to delay any instruction time! We can't seem to keep working sharpeners in the rooms and funding issues makes it difficult to purchase more. Every classroom should each have the luxury of having their own sharpener!

These pencil sharpeners will hopefully last much longer than the ones we are currently using that continue to break.

Having better quality school supplies will allow us to purchase more necessary items for the students with the extra funds we may have.
