My students need arts materials such as construction papers, model clay, the Bullying in Schools book, and art books to express their feelings using different art elements.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever been bullied and felt helpless, lonely, and scare? My students are facing this challenge in school because they don't know what to do or say. ARTS is a gateway to empower them to express their feelings and emotions toward bullying and provide opportunities to develop character.
My 25 amazing second graders enjoy learning and creating art.
They are mesmerized by information that they acquired from books and love to make different three-dimensional arts. They are living in a socioeconomically disadvantaged area where they have to face many challenges, and bulling is one of the barriers that they face in their everyday experiences.
All of our students qualify for the free meal program. We are a Title I school as well as a Performance Improvement School. We are the only span school in the East Los Angeles area. A few of my students are struggling readers but love to express their learning through arts. Because some of them are unable to express themselves with words, they often get frustrated and act physically toward others or keep their feelings to themselves. As a result, they feel inferior and are afraid to speak up, and this leads to an increase of bullying in school. My students need to know how to deal with being bullied and express their feelings toward bullying.
My Project
The "Bullying in School" book would provide me with opportunities to enhance my students' understanding about bullying. The construction papers, gel pens, molding clay, and beads would provide students with materials to express their feelings toward others and develop the sense of community in and outside of the classroom. Students would be able to draw portraits of themselves to express their feelings and emotions when needed.
The printer ink would allow students to print out colorful images to express the importance of friendship, kindness, and character. The desk organizer would provide a space for students to turn in their work. All these wonderful art materials would provide opportunities for students to build character and learn to express their frustration in positive ways.
Help empower my students to express their feelings and emotions about bullying through ARTS.
With the opportunities to express their frustration through arts, my students would be able to learn in a bully free environment. Your generous donations would greatly impact my students' education and lives.
