My Students

Every day, my kids walk into my classroom so full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
They come from various cultures and economic statuses. My kids love to read and write. They just need the "write" tools. I want to give them the resources to read, write, draw, and to be as creative as they can be!
Martin Luther King, Jr. said it best, "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character—that is the goal of true education."
My goal, as an educator, is to teach and provide the resources for my students to reach their given potential, in order for them to change the world.
My Project
Help provide my students with the resources to celebrate and honor famous Americans during black history month. As an arts integration learning community, our goal is to use the arts as a part of our core curriculum. Arts integration helps students build a positive classroom environment and encourages students to take risks, explore possibilities. We will use Ready to Write! Prompt Box to help students generate wiring ideas. Students will use the Arteza Canvas 5x7 and 6x6 Panels to design and paint stamps and quotes that represent African Americans. The felt letter board will display the standards. Students will be able to identify with the people who have changed and impacted their lives.
