My students love to learn! I teach elementary-aged gifted children who thrive when participating in hands-on learning activities. I feel very grateful to be able to work with students who are hungry to learn and love to be challenged.
My district is located just outside the St.
Louis region. Over 65% of the student population relies on free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch service. Our pull-out gifted program serves children from our 20 elementary schools. Each grade level comes to our center for one day each week.
My Project
My students need biographical books about famous artists for classroom use. The artists we will study are of various ethnicities, genders, and are from all over the world.
Children need exposure to great works of art.
The class I am teaching will allow the children to study famous artists, their artistic styles as well as their life stories.
After learning about the famous artists, the students will be given an opportunity to create their own projects. Each project will not only be inspired by great art, but will also incorporate an element of art like texture, color or perhaps shape.
