Help me give my students drawing supplies, sketchbooks, a pair of chairs, and some instructional books to support our artistic abilities and make math beautiful!
New York City 7th grade mathematics students for the win - we’re back in the classroom and it’s the realest it’s even been. We’ve got lots on our plate to sort out and we are prioritizing our social, emotional, and mental well being as well as we can. We all love being in school, making real connections happen in a real classroom, and are resilient enough to overcome any challenge, even if we haven't been able to meet face-to-face for a while.
We are a Title I School - high poverty, low resources and a collective spirit that doesn’t know the meaning of the word quit.
NYC Strong in our middle school. We are artists, thinkers, and problem-solvers, and we need a bit of your support.
Our math classroom is full of students on a mission to improve their lives, and the lives of those around us. When we’re learning math, we like to apply and develop our artistic talents - building scale models (we just built a model of the Brooklyn Bridge), catering drawings, and designing beautiful displays of problem solving.
My Project
My students are the dreamers of dreams, they are the makers of mathematic marvels. New drawing supplies will inspire us to create beautiful work of which we are proud. Our classroom is in dire need of supplies, appropriate furniture, and quality books and our students are ready to put their talents and tenacity to the test. We’re busy building scale models, drawing up scale blueprints, measure our creations, and are in the process of arranging our classroom so students can work comfortably and still social distance.
We like making nice projects, and nice projects require tools and materials - thanks to your support we will be able to do just that, keeping up the great work we are doing already.
