Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 26 motivated students eager to learn. My students come from a low socioeconomic background and 100% of them receive free breakfast, lunch, and supper. They have limited resources available. Many parents work two jobs and are barely able to support the family.
Most of my students have limited resources available, which includes books and everyday supplies.
Therefore, I often bring in supplies as well as other necessities to keep them going. I know that if we provide them with the right support, resources, and opportunities, they can thrive and experience success.
My Project
Who doesn't like art? My students love art and look forward to our weekly art activities. We have been studying about animals and their habitats. This year instead of using crayons for their framed animal pictures, I would like to expose my students to acrylic markers and canvas. My students are very creative and I know they will enjoy this tremendously.
Students take pride in seeing their artwork displayed.
The strips and hooks will allow me to display their artwork in our classroom for all to see. These art supplies will help my students express themselves artistically all year long.
