My students are kind, resilient, and hard-working leaders of our elementary school. Many of them come from stressful home lives, but when they walk through our classroom door, they are creative, inquisitive, bright students who put maximum effort into their learning.
I want every student in my class to know they are special to me, and a special part of their community.
My school focuses on building and nurturing positive relationships. I feel very privileged to be able to work with such an amazing group of preteens as they learn how to navigate the world around them.
Students love learning through the arts! We will use a variety of art mediums to express their ideas and feelings. Participating in creative-based activities builds brainpower and deepens student knowledge. Representing what they are learning through the arts helps kids connect to people from all over the world. Participating in art lessons from varying cultures and regions, the artist will build understanding, empathy and will improve global citizenship.
Specifically, we will use canvas boards and paint materials to represent our understanding of other cultures around the world, mainly our neighboring countries of Mexico and Canada.
The arts connect people across time and cultures. Thank you for helping my students learn about the world they live in!
