My Students

Aloha! We are a brand new charter school. Our focus and mission are to integrate the arts into our general education curriculum with a focus on Hawaiian culture.

Our students are excited and eager to learn because of the arts.

Their work creatively engages them completely and immerses them in the subjects we study. It has been very rewarding to see their engagement level when the arts are used.

Students here at our new charter school, have already grown so much this year. Coming from a variety of backgrounds and diverse cultures, they have really created a culture and a community of creativity.

My Project

Aloha! We are part of an innovative new charter school that integrates the arts. We are in need of individual student watercolor paper books to collect our daily investigations as artists. We will combine this learning with our reading novels as we learn to analyze central messages, characters actions, and settings in our books.

Students will be taught the skills to create quality watercolor art as they imagine what the setting from their books may look by doing a landscape painting.

They will then analyze why the setting is important and how it affects the story.

This project will deepen and enrich our understanding of the importance of an imagination. We will further our knowledge by applying this learning in our writing.
