Every year, I am blessed with a wonderful group of diverse students. We have a fantastic year full of teamwork, hands-on learning, and skill building. I say at the end of the year that it can't get any better than that one.
I want to be able to go above and beyond for these precious students.
Although our parents are wonderful supporters, they are unable to give more than the supplies and materials requested at the beginning of the year. Being a Title I school, we have some additional resources but could use all the extra help we can get. I would love to make their learning experiences bigger and better than imaginable when they walk through my door.
My Project
Each year, we have a school-wide art show to display pieces that the students have created. We discover a different artist each year and learn to create work in their style.
To help us produce high quality and long lasting pieces of art that students may have as keepsakes for the rest of their lives, we need more materials such as canvases, paints, and brushes.
A book about Henri Matisse will help our second grade learn more information about our artist as we study. Tissue paper, ink, and card stock will help us create pieces in a variety of styles. Please help us ramp up our artistic sides as we dive into this part of our curriculum!
