My students are diverse in many ways, not just culturally. They have different strengths and learning styles. They have different support systems, and home lives. They also have differing abilities and access to different resources.
In my classroom, my goal is to make all of the 3rd grade content accessible to each and every one of my students.
This sometimes feels like a daunting task! Capturing my students' attention and interest is not always easily done. One way to engage my students is through art!
My Project
Several of my students this year are incredible artists. It is tough to find time to focus on art, so I try to include it whenever I can in other subject areas. It can be a strain to keep the classroom stocked with quality art supplies, so I'm reaching out to the wonderful Donors Choose community! My students have talent that I want to encourage in order to help motivate and inspire those of us who are less inclined, like myself!
We love to include art projects with Social Studies, Reading and Language Arts, and even in Math!
We need to re-supply in order to keep things going throughout the year.
