This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students live in South Florida, a melting pot of many cultures! I teach 3rd grade! The students in my classroom range from struggling to advanced readers. At our Title I school, my students have many emotional and physical needs. I do my absolute best to provide what they need to succeed!
My students love learning through real-life, hands-on experiences, doing research projects, and taking their learning to the next level!
Our school does so much for our students and I want to give them my 100% so that they can soar!
My Project
My third grade class would love to receive a Scholastic News subscription in order to read high quality, and engaging text each month! The students will use their magazines during our reading centers to practice literacy skills.
My class is very interested in informational text and the real world aspect of these magazines will appeal to my reluctant readers!
These magazines will allow my students access to color copies, and engaging materials that will keep them focused and interested during centers. Normally we are using black and white copies of articles that can sometimes seem boring to my students. This resource will make planning easier and lessons more engaging!
