Our school is Title I, with 100% of our children receiving free lunch. Children come to school excited and eager to learn. A lot of times the school environment is the only stability that the children have in life. We have a diverse group of students, coming from all different backgrounds.
It is so important to provide these children with experiences that they wouldn't have at home.

My Project
Children's books are the key to vocabulary expansion, and imagination growth. Children need access to many different kinds of books.
When we provide young minds with quality books their minds can take them anywhere.
When children fall in love with books their futures can go anywhere. I want my students to fall in love with every aspect of books and story telling, so that they will crave reading their entire lives.
One way to foster this love of reading is have deep author and illustrator studies. This project will allow me to expose my students to the works of Lemony Snicket and Maira Kalman. Help me open their eyes to many wonderful worlds.
