My students are elated, inspired and eager to walk into our art classroom every week. The bold colors, exposure to different supplies and my crazy teaching welcome back a new wave of excitement and enchantment every time they enter the door. We have a variety of different students with varying experiences and exposure to the arts.
My students are always excited and willing to take on challenges in a multitude of creative ways.
They come to me with a unique set of life circumstances and always amaze me with the different solutions they come up with to solve artistic problems.
It is my hope for my students that the skills that they build in the art classroom will carry throughout the different areas of their life and throughout their lifetime. It's my goal that the appreciation and knowledge that they build in the art classroom should be a solid foundation for careers in an ever-changing world of technology and creativity.
My students come from all different cultures, families and socioeconomic status. Our school is nestled in the farmlands of Florida.
My Project
Our art classroom is sparse with organization and storage. Much of the furniture that has come along with the room is broken, has parts missing and is practically 20 years old showing years of wear, tear, and rust.
This project will help us get the organizational storage that we desperately need.
Each table will get a rolling cart that will house their supplies. This has many benefits including minimized movement around the classroom, freeing up space on already cramped tables, and having students have the opportunity to choose from supplies at their own area.
The clear boxes will help us organize chalk and oil pastels by color.
