We are a one to one school and before quarantine, my students felt very comfortable with technology. We were set up with google classroom as the platform to share information with them. We use Seesaw and Flipgrid to create digital portfolios of artwork, writing, and stories. Now that we are digitally learning from home, students have made some adjustments to fit their needs.
Students take pride in their work, even with limited resources at home.
I’ve allowed students to be very expressive with whatever media (materials) they have at home. Even down to using spices and coffee grounds as paint pigments.
Students have embraced this time to be with family, self express their emotions, and to work through this time in their own process. Even though it is still difficult with limited wifi access, students have many choices in using art to express themselves and to work through these hard times at their own pace.
My Project
Help! We are in major need of art resources for our distance learning project! We need creative art ideas to make while we are away from school. Help us find meaningful lessons for students to participate in while learning about the elements and principles of art, famous artists, and new art techniques. The TPT gift cards will allow us to go on Teachers Pay Teachers to purchase sketchbook activities, art history bundles, and art worksheets to build our art skills and knowledge while we create art from home! Help us make this distance learning smooth transitions with impactful, in-depth art activities.
