Mrs. Sehstedt from Athens GA is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a drying rack for their paintings and play dough, a play dough designer kit and supplies for fine motor work during art time in my classroom.

I want my students to be great story tellers and great writers by the end of their kindergarten careers. Our kids are unable to paint as often as they want because we have no drying rack to store their art. They have no play dough to exercise their little hands to strengthen their writing.
I work at a school that is Title One.
Most of the students in our school receive free or reduced lunch. The students come in early at around 7:10 in the morning and then go to breakfast at 7:15. School starts at 7:40 and the students are ready to learn. Sometimes we have students who are not ready to learn. For those students, we work together to try to help that student feel safe and secure. Our school is close knit and we all help each other. Other kids from other grade levels visit my room to help the younger kids with classwork or just be helpers in my classroom. The children are eager to please and excited about the things we do at school. When parents come in for conferences, they always tell us of how the students come home and repeating all the things they have learned at school.
The students will use the drying rack after creating painting and gluing creations. Students will be able to strengthen their hands by doing some fine motor exercises with play dough. The play dough will not only be used during art time, but also during language arts by making letters or their names. Students can also use the dough for counting and making different shapes.
Making art creations and using art tools will help our students with creativity and fine motor skills.
This will strengthen their writing skills. The students will also improve in coordination and communication by building sing hands and eyes and sharing what was created.
