Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My room has fifteen adorable preschool-kindergarten students ages three to six. While the majority of my students are Deaf/Hard of Hearing and use American Sign Language, I do have students with other learning difficulties, as well as typically developing students with normal hearing.

The diversity in my classroom is as unique as a fallen snowflake.

They each come in with a great big smile, offering hugs and kisses and ready to learn and play. The room is always full of joy, love, and laughter. There is no way a person can enter my room and not feel happy, regardless of how they are feeling.

My Project

I am always finding ways to develop and expand the independence of my young students. These mailboxes will help foster my students' abilities in acquiring the art paper they want. They are a creative group of students who are always asking for paper to draw. Having these mailboxes in my class helps foster the students independence.

The multiple shelves allows each color to have its own place where it's easily accessable for each child.

The students will be responsible for getting their own art supplies including the newly organized art paper. The mailboxes keep us organized while teaching the students responsibility.
