I am a school counselor who runs a program called Skills for Success for students who are dealing with trauma and need extra support. Most of my students struggle emotionally, socially, and academically and need me to help them with basic social and emotional skills several times a day. Each of my students sees me at least three times a day to learn coping and social skills during our check-in and check-out process. My students also come to see me when they need a break when they are too overwhelmed within their class.
My Project
Students love to draw to express themselves. They love to be able to use art therapy to express things they can't bear to say out loud and relieve their stresses. They like to have their own art journal to help them see their past art and how far they have come in their journey. With these art journal supplies, my students will have their own safe space to express their emotions and feelings in their private journals in a safe space.
