This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Lego-based therapy is an evidence-based approach that aims to develop social communication skills in children, such as sharing, turn-taking, following rules, using names, and problem-solving.

In practice, children work in groups of 6-8 with each participant having a distinct role in building a Lego model collaboratively.

In my classroom, we will be using Legos to heal Childhood Trauma in the form of art creations through Lego building. Students are asking for different forms of creating art and Legos have been a popular request among students.

Students have to choose the Lego sets that represent their pain or joy and build it in a 2-week time frame and then each student will write a reflection on why this Lego model represents their pain.
