I am forever indebted to return the love, nurturing, discipline and education that was brought forth to me as a child!
Our scholars come from one of the highest poverty-stricken neighborhoods in the Washington, DC, area but come to school each day with a smile.
I service students who require extensive one-on-one collaboration, suffer severely with poor test scores, and are faced with many instances of abuse, neglect, and trauma. But these kids still manage to yearn for success and overcome obstacles in their daily lives.
Being a Title One school, our scholars aren't often allowed the same opportunity as others. Technology is beyond prevalent in this twenty-first century, and my hopes are to present this to our scholars!
Research shows that art and therapy integration instills value, calmness, and higher success rates in children and also teenagers. Our scholars need this equipment to begin our entrepreneurial journey! With these basic Cricut machines, we will be able to create anything! All the while, they will have fun, gaining informal therapeutic sessions and delivering smiles through production. We can pretty much create anything! I've decided to create an atmosphere where children can create masterpieces and also gain knowledge of business management early on. We are building young entrepreneurs right here in the heart of Washington, DC, all while integrating arts, coupled with therapy, which are two needed aspects for developmental growth for our kids.
