Art therapy at home, helps students not feel so alone!
Help me give my students get the tools that they need to continue remote learning. They each need a Ready2learn Craft Kit Mask Kit, pencils, pencil sharpeners, dry erase boards, and dry erase markers to use at home.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are elementary-aged children that require individualized educational plans due to their developmental or learning disabilities. Many of my students have experienced some form of trauma. In our classroom, social skills instruction is intertwined into every academic lesson. Due to many negative behaviors that occur in our classroom, we focus on getting ourselves regulated and prepared to learn just as we would focus on Reading, Writing, and Math. Our class schedule includes a time-slot dedicated to teaching daily social skills and academics with explicit instruction on appropriate behaviors within the school setting.
My Project
Our schools are physically closed for the remainder of the school year. We use art therapy with my students to help them express the emotions that they sometimes can't describe in words. Losing the safe haven of our classroom supplies and our art therapy time has been a great loss to my students.
My students need art supplies and white boards to help them participate in our online class sessions.
These art kits will help my students express themselves. These white boards allow kids to be interactive during online class.
