My students need a digital microscope in order to explore what artists sometimes overlook in the scientific world.

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science." Albert Einstein. At my school, I would like my students to have the opportunity to explore cellular structures and transform those images into digital designs.
Part of the mission of my school is to prepare the students for a career in the science and medical field.
But, some of my students see art as "just art" and that it doesn't really matter. I would like to change their opinion and give them a new perspective of how to look at science, and that is from a creative point of view.
My students love science, so I would like them to experience another point of view. Looking at plant cells, blood cells, and bacteria under the microscope for identification purposes is one thing, but I would like to see my students to be able to transform these images into an art form. Let these images become a landscape, dream or surreal like image. To be able to imagine, create or even solve a problem, and then remembering these images due to the creative process they were involved in.
Having these microscopes will allow the students to take the cellular structures they normally see in their textbook or in experiments, and bring them to life.
To enlarge them and transform the images into something else and see that these images can have beauty. I could see this sparking an interest in the medical illustration career, combining their love of science and love of art.
