Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to learn! Every day, they come to school ready to ask questions, explore new ideas, and do their best. Most of our students qualify for free lunch, so families are not able to provide the school with extra financial support.

Kindergartners learn best through hands-on, integrated experiences.

This is especially important for my students who are English Language Learners. They have to master academic concepts and a new language at the same time! It's important that these students have lots of time to practice their new language so they can share what they've learned.

My Project

I am asking for art supplies to refresh materials we use throughout the year in every subject. Crayons are the workhorse of kindergarten projects. As students fine motor skills develop their supplies should as well. In the beginning of the year, we used large crayons with only 12 shades. Now I am asking for thinner crayons and markers with more shades. With higher quality materials students are motivated to produce higher quality work.

High-quality construction paper that both tears and cuts neatly with ease makes every project more enticing.

My students use it to make covers for their published writing, posters to share their opinions and label classroom items and procedures. They explore shape attributes and patterns in math, and of course create arts and crafts projects.
